Frequently Asked Questions
Additional information
Here are the answers to the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What does the term "GENERIC" mean in your product listings?
The GENERIC brand is used in several ways in our online store, as we sell both new and used surplus electrical products.
Sometimes we can’t identify the specific brand name on used products, so we list them as GENERIC. Also, if we have multiple identical products available in the same category, we list them as GENERIC—for example, safety switches.
In that case, you can request a specific brand before purchasing it, or at the checkout in the "NOTES" section.
What is the difference between a "new surplus" item and a used item?
New surplus: Product that has never been used, sourced from excess inventory, but without the original packaging.
Used and tested: A product that has been previously used, which we test to ensure it works properly. It may have been repaired or repainted if necessary.
Are all products tested before they go on sale?
Yes, whenever possible. Our testing equipment includes, among other things:
- HIPOT Test (Dielectric Strength)
- Continuity test
- Load test
Each part is inspected to ensure it is in good working order.
Do you repackage certain products before selling them?
Yes. If a used product does not meet our aesthetic or quality standards, it is sent to our modern paint shop. This may cause a slight delay in processing your order, in which case we will notify you.
What do the suffixes -R and -N in your product numbers mean?
These suffixes are used for internal purposes:
- -R = Refurbished or Used product
- -N = New Surplus Product
They are not part of the manufacturer's original part number. A part number without a suffix generally indicates a new product.
What is the processing and delivery time?
Processing time varies depending on the type of product. If an item requires testing or repackaging, we will let you know in advance.
Regarding shipping, our rates may vary after purchase depending on the weight or the shipping method required. If an adjustment is necessary, we will contact you promptly.
Do you offer a warranty on your products?
Yes. All our products are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for 12 months from the date of shipment. Depending on the circumstances, a defective product may be repaired, replaced, or refunded.
Exceptions :
- Capacitors, heating and lighting equipment: 3-month warranty.
- Fuses, relays, motors, measuring instruments, tools, and equipment: not covered by warranty.
The warranty is void if the product has been modified, used improperly, or exposed to an incorrect voltage or frequency.
For full details, please see our [warranty policy]
Do you offer an extended warranty?
Yes, but only for certain products (e.g., circuit breakers).
When available, an extended warranty option (2 or 3 years) appears directly on the product page. It extends the original warranty by one year and is subject to the same terms and conditions as our standard warranty.
If the option isn't visible, you can submit a special request.
What is your return policy?
Voluntary returns: You may return an unused, unopened item in perfect condition within 15 days of purchase. You are responsible for shipping costs. Please contact us to obtain a return authorization number.
Produit défectueux : S’il est couvert par la garantie, nous le remplacerons ou le réparerons. Les frais de retour sont à votre charge. Contactez-nous pour les modalités.
